The purpose of this section is to provide clear instruction to National Aviation Authorities (NAA) or equivalent bodies and international/regional regulatory authorities on how they can become JARUS members.
JARUS is a voluntary organisation with no cost commitment. There are no limits to the number of NAA members that can be volunteered. It is requested that NAAs volunteer a minimum of two members to act as a Focal Point and Alternate Focal Point.
The following steps describe the process of joining JARUS as an NAA member.
Step 1
Complete the ‘Example Letter of Accession’ available to download from this page, required information is indicated in red. This letter must be signed by the Director of the NAA or an equivalent position within the NAA.
Step 2
Email the completed Letter of Accession to contact@jarus-uas.org for attention of the JARUS Secretary General.
Step 3
The JARUS Leadership Team will review the request to join JARUS and if approved, the JARUS Secretariat will respond with a Letter of Confirmation signed by the JARUS Chair.
In the event a request to join JARUS is declined, a formal Letter of Declination signed by the JARUS Chair will be provided by the JARUS Secretariat.
Step 4
If accepted, the NAA is now officially a JARUS member. As part of the joining process JARUS requires a Focal Point and Alternate Focal Point be nominated for the NAA. The JARUS Secretariat will then onboard the new Focal Point and Alternate Focal Point. The JARUS Secretariat will organise an internal announcement to the JARUS Plenary Team followed by a public announcement via the JARUS social media platforms.
