JARUS Vice Chair at the Comisión Latinoamericana de Aviación Civil

JARUS continues to strengthen engagement across the global aviation community, including through recent participation at the Comisión Latinoamericana de Aviación Civil / Latin American Civil Aviation Commission (CLAC/LACAC) meeting in Lima, Peru.

JARUS was represented by our Vice Chair, Roberto José Silveira Honorato, at the CLAC/LACAC meeting, held alongside the Airports Council International – Latin America and the Caribbean / ACI World Annual General Assembly, Conference and Exhibition (WAGA) 2026.

In Lima, Roberto provided CLAC Member States with an overview of JARUS, emphasising its role in developing practical regulatory, safety and risk assessment tools that support civil aviation authorities in the oversight and integration of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).

The presentation highlighted how JARUS guidance and methodologies assist authorities in implementing harmonised, risk-based regulatory frameworks, and underscored that JARUS’ work is aligned with ICAO’s objectives and ongoing efforts to enable the safe, secure and efficient integration of UAS into the global aviation system.

CLAC Member States were also invited to strengthen their engagement with JARUS activities and contribute to the development and adoption of internationally recognised best practices.

JARUS values these opportunities to share knowledge, build connections and support safe, practical and harmonised UAS regulation.
